Kristie Long-Foley PhD, Assist. Prof.
Public health expert
Kristie is recognized as an expert in the field of public health. She has authored numerous published journal articles as well as presenting regularly at major medical conventions. Her work has been recognized with academic awards, not just in the US but also in Europe.
She undertook her studies at The University of North Carolina, which culminated in her doctorate. After this she continued her research as a post-doctoral fellow and faculty member at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina where Kristie has particularly focused on the social and cultural factors, which contribute to disparities in Cancer. Following a Fulbright Fellowship in Hungary, Kristie joined the faculty of Davidson College as Associate Professor and Associate Director of Medical Humanities. In this role, she conducts research and teaches courses related to the intersection between the humanities and human health. She continues collaboration in Europe with colleagues at Semmelweis University (Budapest, Hungary) and Charité Berlin.
